Infrared & Ultrasonic Inspection
Burlington Electrical Testing Company has been providing infrared inspection services for the past 15 years using state of the art imaging systems and trained NETA certified technicians.
Burlington Electrical Testing Company uses FLIR Imaging System cameras utilizing the Irwin report writing software to expediously and efficiently produce a high quality report detailing all problems found, and can determine the level of severity and recommend repairs.
By using a NETA certified technician you can be assured that the Infrared Inspection is performed in a safe manner by a qualified technician who has the experience and training to identify problems and in some cases repair the problems before leaving the job site.
Infrared thermography can be applied in any situation where a problem or condition can reveal itself by means of a thermal difference. When inspecting the condition of electrical distribution equipment BET can “see” heat with an infrared camera. For example, sliding and bolted connections can become resistive through loosening, corrosion, etc.
Although the process sounds simple as pointing a camera, it often is not, due to the nature of heat transfer. Solid training and the BET technician’s experience is the key to the successful application of Infrared Scanning.
Infrared Thermography Scanning can:
- Significantly reduce unscheduled power outages
- Detect problems quickly, without interrupting service
- Assess priorities for corrective action
- Minimize preventive maintenance and troubleshooting time
- Comply with insurance company requirements
- Check for defective equipment while still under manufacturer warranty
Electrical Systems Applications:
- Power Generation Inspections including Exciters, 4160 Connections, Motor Control Centers and Bus Ducts
- Substation Electrical inspections including Switchgear, Breakers, Transformers and Capacitor Banks
- Overhead Electrical Distribution Inspections
- Electrical Motor Inspections
- Battery Load Testing
